This year’s international forum in Odesa brought together business, political and civil society leaders from around the world. Despite the challenges of war, Odesa region demonstrates incredible resilience and readiness for development.
‘This forum is a vivid example of how, even in times of war, it is possible to unite international efforts to rebuild the country. Successful economic integration and development of Odesa’s infrastructure will be the impetus for the restoration of the whole of Ukraine. Today, we need to work together – business, civil society, and government – to create a modern, strong state that can adequately respond to the challenges of war and become a leader in Eastern Europe,’ said Yuriy Maslov, President of the Association of Local Governments “EU Strategy for the Danube Region”.
Odesa is becoming a centre for the development of digital technologies, green energy and tourism. The Forum opened new horizons for cooperation and showed that our future is being built today – thanks to the joint efforts of business, government and international partners.
‘The Forum has become a powerful signal to the entire international community: despite the war, Odesa has a huge economic potential and an attractive investment climate,’ added Veniamin Unguryan, Deputy President of the Association.
‘Our international partners are already making a significant contribution to the recovery of Odesa and Ukraine as a whole. For example, Japan actively supports infrastructure projects and promotes cultural revival, including the preservation of Odesa’s historical heritage. Italy has allocated significant funds for the restoration of the city’s architectural monuments and helped to include the historic centre of Odesa in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
We believe that a new era of European Ukraine’s prosperity will begin with Odesa. We are proud of our partners and strive to create a strong, successful country together!
