During the 10th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, Slovakia officially handed over the presidency of the Strategy to Ukraine. Ukraine became the first non-EU country to hold the EU Strategy for the Danube Region Chairmanship.
The Danube Strategy is a platform for cooperation between 14 countries in the Danube Region. The Ukrainian part of the Strategy covers Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia regions. The participating states cooperate in the areas of shipping, environmental protection, education, security, tourism, and support for the competitiveness of enterprises.
